After working in the banking industry for several years, I decided to work with my husband, David in the financial industry. This left considerable extra time for me. In my quest to fill this extra time, I decided to start quilting and oh, what a journey this has been! Ten years ago I purchased my first "stationary longarm". After pushing many king size quilts around on this machine I went for a "home style" longarm. That lasted for one queen size quilt when I had to take it off to turn it around and finish. I then purchased my first APQS machine, an Ultimate 1. David and I had moved to Chilliwack to open a Bed & Breakfast for quilt retreats and started quilting for customers. Rhonda and I also made and sold quilts. I quickly outgrew my Ultimate 1 and purchase an APQS Millennium.
An APQS rep Darlene Epp called me and asked if I wanted to buy her longarm supplies business and life changed dramatically. The business quickly grew to over 1400 worldwide clients in 4 years - was I tired! The dream of a Bed & Beakfast for quilting was put on hold. When the opportunity to sell LongArm Supplies came along I said yes, and I am back to quilting.
I purchased a new Millennium for myself and am enjoying returning to my first love of quilting. I share the studio with my two cats Chai and Puccino. Here is my blog:Quilted Cats Hideaway
